This service is a 30-minute appointment to meet with you and your dog(s) designed to provide valuable insights, and start your journey. During this appointment we will discuss your dog's history, behavior, and your goals while introducing you to our training approach. This consult is an opportunity for us to:
- Learn about your dog's personality, habits, and behaviors
- Understand your training goals and objectives
- Provide information on our training services and methods
- Create a customized training plan tailored to your dog's needs, and lifestyle
- Offer a detailed estimate for our services
Please note that our consultation appointments are not suitable for dogs with dog/people reactivity, aggression, or resource guarding concerns. If you are experiencing any of these concerns, we recommend scheduling a behavioral evaluation with us instead. This will ensure your dog receives the specialized attention they need to thrive. ​

Behavioral Evaluations:
Gain a deeper understanding of your dog's behavior and take the first step towards addressing concerns. Our detailed behavioral evaluation appointments provide valuable insights into your dog's thoughts, feelings, and actions. During this 1-hour assessment, our expert trainers will evaluate your dog's behavior in various contexts including:
- Anxiety and fear responses
- Bond between you and your dog
- Response to strangers and new environments
- Alertness and impulse control
- Memory and ability to follow directions
- Food motivation and resource guarding
- Aggression and reactivity

This thorough evaluation will help us identify areas of strength and concern, allowing us to develop a personalized plan to address behavioral challenges, offer a detailed estimate for our services, and strengthen your relationship with your dog. By investing in this evaluation, you will gain a deeper understanding of your dog's needs and be empowered to make informed decisions about their training and care.
​The cost of this service is $85 in total for one dog, and $150 in total for two dogs. If you more than two dogs, please contact us.
We offer flexible appointment options for both services including in-home appointments at your residence, appointments at our training studio in Oakland, ME or online video appointments for remote training. Please note: We do charge a gas/time fee for in-home appointments.
