The name "Maximillion Dog Training" is a tribute to our beloved dog Maximus, a one-in-a-million furry friend who inspired our passion for dog training. For us "Maximillion" represents the extraordinary bond we share with every dog we encounter, and the limitless potential that lies within each canine companion. This name is more than just a label - it's a reflection of our love, dedication, and commitment to the dogs and owners we serve. As complete positive reinforcement trainers we are dedicated to using force-free, science-based training methods that prioritize the well-being and emotional safety of each dog. We stay up-to-date with the latest scientific research and best practices in canine behavior and learning theory, ensuring that our training techniques are cutting-edge and effective. Through our continued education and experience, we have grown to become Maine's Best Dog Trainers, recognized by Downeast Dog News in 2024 and 2025. Zachariah Smith

Owner & Professional Dog Trainer

Meet Zachariah Smith, the owner and professional dog trainer who is dedicated to strengthening the bond between dogs and their owners through positive reinforcement techniques. With a strong foundation in animal behavior and learning theory, Zachariah has spent years refining his expertise in empowering dogs and their owners to reach their full potential. His journey as a dog trainer began with extensive volunteer work with rescue dogs and shelters, where he gained a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with training dogs from diverse backgrounds. He continued to refine his skills through online and in-person programs both in-state and out-of-state, that focused on behavioral modification and canine behavior. This comprehensive education and hands-on experience have equipped him with the expertise to tackle a wide range of behavioral issues and training goals. As a dedicated professional, Zachariah stays current with the latest scientific research and methods, ensuring his training techniques are cutting-edge and effective. His expertise in positive reinforcement training has allowed him to develop customized training plans that cater to the unique needs and goals of each dog and owner.

 

With a passion for building confidence, trust, and clear communication Zachariah has helped countless dogs and their owners overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. He is committed to providing a supportive, patient, and fun training environment that celebrates the human-canine bond and promotes positive, force-free training practices. Aside from dog training, Zachariah enjoys spending time with his four dogs, going on adventures, riding his BMX bike, four-wheeling, and playing video games. His love for life and enthusiasm for training is contagious and he is dedicated to helping you and your dog achieve a stronger, more loving bond.

Martina Smith

Office Administrator & Professional Dog Trainer

Meet Martina Smith, Zach's wife and office administrator who is dedicated to providing a warm and informative welcome to our dog training family. As the first point of contact, Martina handles all aspects of booking appointments and providing detailed information about our training process and programs.

 

Martina Smith formerly known as Martina Baker, has gained international recognition for her rare medical condition, featured in news articles such as Inside Edition, Daily Mail, The Mirror, and more. Her service dog Ria who was helped trained by Zach, assists her with her rare autoimmune disability. Martina's experience in dog behavior and shelter work has equipped her with a deep understanding of canine needs. In addition to her administrative role, Martina is also a skilled dog trainer who works with online video clients, providing personalized training sessions from the comfort of their own homes. She also assists with in-person private sessions at client’s homes offering tailored training solutions to meet each dog's unique needs. During the spring and summer months, Martina leads engaging group classes providing a fun and social environment for dogs to learn and thrive. 

 

Aside from dog training, Martina enjoys spending her free time four-wheeling, fishing, and relaxing on the lake with her family. Going on adventures with her four dogs brings her immense joy, and she's often found laughing and enjoying all aspects of Maine. Martina is passionate about providing exceptional care and support for your dog throughout their training journey. With her expertise, unique background, compassion, and dedication, she is a trusted member of our team.
